Smokin'
This is one of the best downloads I've heard of the band in a trio setting. Bobby's guitar playing was simply on fire on this night, with incredible solos on Swordcrosser and Outer Space and pretty much everything else too. And the falcon and Chief Whitehorse are pretty blistering as well. If you want a good sample of the "trio" this one is right up there with the "Martin's" gig from 2005, in my opinion. Love the newer material too.
My only negatives about this show are that Tumblin' Down doesn't feature the old jazzy turnaround on the chorus, that was once a staple of the song (and really the hook of the song), and Bobby Lee doesn't go high on the vocals on the chorus of Blow (My Brains) the way he does on the recording. I realize that it's a stretch on his voice, but gosh that vocal melody kinda MAKES that chorus great. Anyways, I'm nit-picking, this performance is still totally amazing. Wish I coulda been there with my Philly phriends.
Notes
The Codetalkers are:
Bobby Lee Rodgers Guitar/Vocals
Ted Pecchio Bass
Tyler Greenwell Drums (Their Falcon)
